MAC has released a new collection today called Styledriven, featuring 47 products, six of which are permanent and being re-promoted, and 41 of which are new and will be made permanent (!). This is a huge launch for MAC, and definitely the biggest permanent launch I've ever seen. This collection sees the expansion of their Pro Longwear line-up, featuring new shades of the Lipcreme, a new lip pencil formula, and a new Lipglass formula. This review will include five of the seven new shades of Pro Longwear Lipcreme (there are a total of 12 shades of Lipcreme featured in this collection, but five of them are already permanent and just being re-promoted). Each lipstick contains 3.6 grams and retails for $20. These are not applicable for the Back To MAC recycling program.
Dress It Up, To The Future!, Soft Sell, Positively Dashing, and Endless Drama
Dress It Up is a soft, light blue-based pink. It is slightly cooler than than Angel and Creme Cup.To The Future! is a peachy nude with a hint of pink. It is more pink than Shy Girl.Soft Sell is a berry-tinted pink with very subtle micro-shimmer. It is more brown than Modesty, and more pink than Creme In Your Coffee.Positively Dashing is a raspberry pink. It is slightly more brown than Plumful.Endless Drama is a deep berry red with subtle micro-shimmer. It is darker than Hang Up, more brown than Diva, and much less pink than Rebel.
I do get about six (light shades) to eight (darker shades) hours of wear with these lipsticks without my lips feeling or looking dry (though they don't feel particularly moisturized, either), and the darker and brighter shades do stain as well, seemingly prolonging the wear even more. My lips do look more moist using these lipsticks, however, than MAC's Matte shades or their new Mattene lipsticks. None of these shades are particularly unique, but they are a nice addition to the existing line-up, so it's great for those who love the creamy texture, opaque colour pay-off, and semi-matte finish of the Pro Longwear Lipcreme.
