MAC released a new collection yesterday called Styledriven, featuring 47 products, six of which are permanent and being re-promoted, and 41 of which are new and will be made permanent (!). This is a huge launch for MAC, and definitely the biggest permanent launch I've ever seen. This collection sees the expansion of their Pro Longwear line-up, featuring new shades of the Lipcreme, a new lip pencil formula, and a new Lipglass formula. This review will include eight of the nine shades of the new and permanent Pro Longwear Lipglass. Each lipglass contains 1.92 grams and retails for $22. These are not applicable for the Back To MAC recycling program.
Full Speed Ahead, Infinitely Likeable, Show Me!, Ready Or Not!, Patience, Please, Whoops!, Driven By Love, and Lasting Achievement
Full Speed Ahead is a bright fuchsia pink with blue undertones. It's cooler and more fuchsia than Pink Poodle. It's similar to Lickable lipstick, and less fuchsia than Girl About Town lipstick.Infinitely Likeable is a light, milky pink. It's warmer than Viva Glam Gaga, and darker than Dreamy. It's similar to Creme Cup or Angel lipstick.Show Me! is a medium peachy brown. It's more orange than Cosmo lipstick.Ready Or Not! is a light-medium peach with subtle micro-shimmer. It is more pink than Peachstock lipstick, and less brown than Cherish lipstick.Patience, Please is a very pale pink-beige. It is much milkier than Underage, and much lighter and more beige than Viva Glam Gaga.Whoops! is a bright coral-orange. It looks somewhere in between Vegas Volt and Morange lipsticks.Driven By Love is a bright cherry red with gold micro-shimmer. It is darker and cooler than Russian Red, and darker than Nitro:licious 2046.Lasting Achievement is a dark berry red with red micro-shimmer. It's like a much more opaque version of Looks Like Sin Cremesheen Glass (from Semi-Precious).
The formula of Pro Longwear Lipglass is definitely on the thicker/goopy side and very sticky. When you press your lips together, it feels almost glue-like. But it does wear for a good six hours before fading, so it does make sense that it would need some tackiness to make it a long-wearing gloss. They are also very pigmented; I would say all of them have opaque colour coverage. This is the type of gloss where you have to play with it very quickly, because once it sets, you can't really touch it without making an uneven, streaky mess. I do find that the new sponge-tip applicator proves useful with this formula because it's a bendier, more flexible wand, so you can get a smoother, more even application for such a thick and sticky gloss. It is definitely more of a high maintenance gloss, but it does look beautiful when applied.
