Friday Five: Literally and/or figuratively

This week's Friday Five:
  1. When did you last gloss something over? Literally: Sometime last year. I put some lip gloss on for work. Figuratively: A couple days ago. I glossed over my Instant Pot manual. My chicken-potato-carrot stew definitely turned out more soupy than intended.

  2. When were you most recently out to lunch? Literally: A few days ago, I went out to get some tonkatsu for lunch. It was take out, so I don't know if that counts. Figuratively: I'm not sure, I'm usually pretty aware or in touch with the real world.

  3. What are some hats you wear? Literally: None. I'm not a hat person. My head is too big. Figuratively: I do wear my thinking cap very frequently, as well as my empathy hat. On rarer occasions, I'll wear a tin foil hat.

  4. When were you ever head over heels? Literally: Hmm, about a month ago at my old house. I tripped up the stairs. (Yes, up.) Figuratively: I am head over heels every day for BTS.

  5. When did you recently give it the old college try? Literally: Well, from 2004 to 2010, I was in school in some way, shape, or form. (Two universities, and one makeup artistry and design college.) Figuratively: In January, when I was looking for new jobs. I was pretty relentless about it.

  1. Oh, you've joined us in the Instant Pot cult. :) Congratulations. You'll find it's a lot less thrilling but also a lot less expensive than the BTS cult.

The maple creme Oreos are GREAT. I urge you to get some if you can. How far are you from the border? There must be an American supermarket close to your side of the line, if you dare venture into this virus-laden airspace.

    1. Haha, thank you, thank you. I actually didn't know that Instant Pot is Canadian until I bought one! Apparently the guy who invented it actually lives, like, 10 minutes from my condo. Small world, eh?

Speaking of Canadian... Apparently, maple creme Oreos are not available in Canada which is STUPID because WHO LOVES MAPLE MORE THAN CANADIANS? I'm about 1.5 hours from the border, but like... honestly, it's just not worth going to the US right now. Even if I wanted to, I'm not sure if we can right now. I think the borders are still on lockdown. And even if I was allowed, I'm not sure if Canada would let me back in with how rampant COVID is down there right now. :/

      Eat one for me. :(
