Today was the last day of my nine year tenure with MAC Cosmetics. The girls got me some of my favourite Pablo mini cheese tarts and a card with sweet messages. It's bittersweet, of course, because I spent the most of my time at work and my team was like a second family to me. I won't miss the job and I won't miss the store or the company, but I will miss seeing these friends everyday. I'm thankful for my time at MAC — a company that I spent almost my entire 20s and early 30s with — because I've learned a lot in both professional and personal development, and the knowledge and experience I have gained is invaluable. But I've had enough of cosmetics retail and needed to move on before it further affected my mental and physical health. It still feels somewhat surreal to me that today was my last day, that I won't have to return to my store tomorrow to do payroll and touchbases and coaching recaps... But I'm excited for what's to come. Here's to new beginnings!
