My BTS World OST box set arrived today! As usual, it's immaculately packaged, with the CD on one set of the box, and the other side containing the photobook, a double-sided photocard (I got Kookie!), a game coupon (redeeming the coupon gives styling items that correspond with the member on the coupon to your account in the BTS World game, so I just got a nice pajama set for RM), and a lenticular "concert ticket" photo. Because I also pre-ordered the set from Weply (BigHit's new shopping app that has replaced their old merch site), I got the poster (rolled up a tube, not folded, thank you very much) as well as the pre-order gift, which is a luggage tag (I got RM's card in it). What's cool about the BTS World photobook is that it's double-sided: one side features the photoshoots from "BTS World" (in the game, this is the main story wherein you're trying to get the boys to debut successfully as BTS) and the other side features the photoshoots from "Another Story" (this is the part of the game that features individual fictional storylines for each member — that has nothing to do with BTS as a group — and you're trying to befriend them to help them on their journeys).

Quite frankly, I find it amazing how immersive and detailed the BTS World game is. It's still mind-blowing to think that they'd been planning this for over two years. Like, all these photos and songs and videos that are apart of BTS World were all taken/produced in 2017, so they've just been keeping them completely secret until the launch of the game last week. At first, I was just playing the game casually, and then as I kept moving up in levels, I finally realized how complex the game actually is and how many parts they've integrated into it (and how all these parts are connected), and then I got really addicted. As in, hours of gameplay and money spent. (You know you're really in it to win it when you spend money on an app.) It's no wonder BigHit and NetMarble postponed the release for over a year. With this foray into video/app gaming, not to mention the launch of Weverse (basically BigHit's free fancafe for international fans of BTS and TXT), BigHit is really out here building an empire and totally changing the K-Pop landscape all on their own.
