I had to fast all day because I had a Doppler ultrasound after my thyroid scan and uptake this afternoon, so by the time I got home, I was starving. And all I wanted was pizza. But you know, pizza's fattening AF and is also super high in sodium and sugars. Thus, on today's episode of "Pizza, But Not Really": A whole wheat pita with a tablespoon of pesto (which is insanely high in sodium but is so freaking delicious), low-fat cheddar and mozzarella cheese mix, and lean grilled chicken breast chunks. (If you're wondering where the vegetables are, they were in a giant bowl in the form of a salad right next to this pseudo-pizza.) It was actually surprisingly tasty, though the cheese was a little more rubbery than regular cheese and the chicken could've had more seasoning... It didn't totally satisfy my pizza craving, but it has somewhat curbed it. For now.
