Time for the encore! First song of the set was "So What," which was one of the most hype songs of the night, honestly. It felt like the venue turned into a club. Jungkook always does the shoot dance down the stage plank with one of the members during this portion and chose Suga for this night. But Suga being Suga, he started doing the dance and then thought, "Ah, fuck this," and just walked the rest of the way while pumping his fist. (You can see the video I took of it here!) Second song was "Anpanman," which actually is one of my least favourite songs on Love Yourself: Tear, but the performance for it is really cute.
Right after "Anpanman," BTS did their closing ments. And I gotta say, BTS really seemed to love their time in Canada. RM said, "We haven't been to quite that many countries on this tour, but I'm quite sure this is gonna remain one of the best concerts." And then J-Hope announced, "We prepared a present for you guys! It's time to show you!" And then their massive stage screens turned into a red maple leaf and all the light sticks in the crowd turned white and red to become the Canadian flag. Apparently, BTS Canada Projects originally asked BigHit to allow them to do exactly this at the Hamilton shows to surprise BTS, but it wasn't approved; as it turns out, they wanted to use that project as a gift to us instead. It was incredible. While everyone was going apeshit over this because BTS has never done anything like this for a country before, Jungkook says, "Look at that! Let's take a video!" So, this whole moment will probably end up on their Love Yourself tour DVD set next year. (For now, a Canadian ARMY posted a video of this whole moment.)
They ended the night with "Answer: Love Myself," a perfect closer to a perfect evening. And that concluded my BTS live experience, perhaps the best concert I have ever been to in my life. I will be going again to see them on Saturday in Newark, and I really can't wait.
