This week's Saturday Nine:

- Love may not cost a thing, but everyday stuff does. What's the most recent thing you bought? How much did you spend? My pre-order for all four versions of BTS' upcoming full-length album. It was $143.55 after shipping costs and conversion to CAD.
- This video begins with Jennifer Lopez on the phone, on a veranda with a view of the sea. What's the view from the room you're in right now? I'm in my bedroom facing the windows right now, so this is actually the view:
All the snow is melting so it's pretty ugly out there right now, but that means that Spring is finally here.
- She sings that she doesn't want her lover's gifts or money, she just wants his attention. Let's change that a bit. Which would you prefer: a gift that was personally chosen but you know you'll never use, or cash? Cash. As someone who just threw out over 30 garbage bags full of old junk that had been accumulating for over a decade, I promised myself that I will only keep what I will use, regardless of sentimentality. But most people in my life know what I like, so rarely do I ever get gifts that I will never use.
- She met her first husband, dancer Cris Judd, while working on this video. She met Ben Affleck, to whom she was once engaged, while working on a movie. Think of those you're closest to — where did you meet them? I met one of my best friends through a mutual friend and I met the other one through a co-worker.
- She and her current boyfriend, former Yankee Alex Rodriguez, are both workout fanatics. How often do you exercise? Um, never. I should probably change this as I'm not getting any younger and my metabolism has slowed down significantly from when I was in my 20s, but I just can't get motivated enough to do it.
- Her high school nickname was "La Guitarra," because her curvy shape reminded her friends of a guitar. Share a high school memory about you and your friends. One of my closest friends in high school was a girl named Jaime, and she held house parties once every few months. (I have no idea where her parents went during these times, but I never questioned it.) I remember at one of these parties, my friend Kelly and I just didn't feel like drinking or socializing with Jaime's friends who we didn't know (these parties always consisted of our school friends and then a bunch of her Korean friends that she probably met through her parents or Korean church or something and they always kept to themselves), so we decided to take a walk around the neighbourhood instead. Kelly was a smoker (I don't know how she got cigarettes but I never questioned it), and I decided to try a cigarette for the first time on that walk. It was kinda gross and I got really light-headed, but I still ended up smoking three to four that night. And that's the story of how I became a smoker.
- JLo just completed filming her third season playing a police detective on NBC's Shades of Blue. Did you see anything memorable on TV this past week? I don't watch TV anymore. I even unsubscribed to Netflix because I just don't have the time. These days, I just watch BTS or BTS-related content on YouTube or V Live.
- Jennifer Lopez posts often on Facebook, and Twitter, and Instagram. Do you feel you spend too much time on social media, do you wish you posted more often, or do you try to avoid it altogether? The only platform that I spend any significant amount of time on is Instagram. My own Instagram account documents my food adventures, so I do wish I posted more often, if only because that would mean I'm going out to eat more delicious things. But otherwise, I avoid posting on any other social media platform. I only use Twitter to check BTS' feed. And I go on Facebook like, twice a year.
- Random question: You're at a yard sale and come upon an unusual little knick-knack that would make the perfect gift for your best friend. The tag says $7. You think that's rather high for a castoff. Do you pay it? Do you pass on it? Or do you try to get the seller to lower the price? I'd probably ask to see if they're willing to sell it for less first because it's a yard sale, and everything's up for negotiation. They're trying to get rid of their trash and I don't need the item. But if it's the perfect gift for my best friend, I ultimately wouldn't mind paying for it. If this hypothetical knick-knack can bring that much happiness to my friend (it's the perfect gift, after all), $7 isn't a high price to pay.
