My dad and I found ourselves without plans this evening, so we decided to have dinner together at Pixel 8:

Green Curry with Beef Brisket and Garlic Bread

Pixel 8 has a "Curry Lovers" menu wherein you choose your type of curry, type of meat, and type of carb for $8.99 (it also includes a drink and a scoop of ice cream). We decided on the green curry with beef brisket and a baguette. We were both expecting an actual baguette loaf, but it turned out to be slices of garlic bread — we both love garlic bread, so no complaints here, but a plain loaf would probably have complimented the curry better. That having been said, the curry itself was really, really good — just the right amount of spiciness (we got it medium-hot), not too runny, and with a generous amount of beef brisket that were perfectly tender. I would definitely get this again, maybe with rice next time.

Japanese-Style Fried Udon Noodles

The Japanese-style fried udon noodles weren't terrible, but we both decided that it wasn't great and we wouldn't order it again. There was this odd sweetness in there that we realized could only come from ketchup — I don't know about you, but I'm not exactly fond of my udon noodles being stir-fried in ketchup (I think they should've used XO sauce instead, which wouldn't make them Japanese, but it sure would've been tastier). If you're going to get fried udon noodles from Pixel 8, get the satay beef version instead — it is way more delicious and much more satisfying.
