Lush Haul: Rehab, I Love Juicy, and Sex Bomb

on

I went into Lush yesterday and picked up two new bottles of shampoo: Rehab for restoring strength and I Love Juicy for clarifying. I wash my hair everyday (yeah, yeah), and love Big, but the sea salt in it has a tendency to dry out hair and scalp, so I use it every other day along with another shampoo. I am nearly out of my Fresh Soy Shampoo, so I decided to try these two Lush ones. I'm gonna be honest, I chose I Love Juicy more so for the scent ('cause it's technically for oily hair, and I don't really have oily hair, but I do use product everyday, so I'm told it's good to rid of residue) and Rehab for its actual purposes (my hair is kind of damaged from heat abuse).

And then, on a whim, I decided to buy a Sex Bomb bath bomb. Guys, I don't even take baths. But, like, this bath bomb was just so pretty and smelled so good that I couldn't resist. Frequenting Lush comes with perks, though, because I've made friends with the assistant manager there. He completely freaked out when I admitted I had never taken a bath before, and then gifted me with not only a Fizzbanger bath bomb, but also a Magic Mushroom bubble bar and said, "Now you have no reason not to take a bath!" My only conundrum: How does one take a bath? Do I shower before or after the bath? If I have to clean the tub before and after the bath, doesn't that defeat the purpose of said bath? Guys, taking a bath is complicated.

  1. I CANNOT believe you've never taken a bubble bath before!! I usually just turn on the water, add my soap, then hop in and (usually) pass out for half an hour and wake up wrinkly.

    2. I know, it's a shame! A SHAME, I TELLS YA.

But, like... do you wash your hair? Do you have to rinse off after? Is it just like lying in your own filth? How do you clean your tub before/after?

    3. Hahaha, no, you don't lie in your own filth. You have to have a real shower afterwards - at least that's what I do. You know, you could do the reverse where you shower, then you soak in a tub. That way you might be able to let your skin absorb all the nice essential oils that are in Lush bath bombs.

    4. Maybe shower before and just have a rinse after?

How often do you have to clean your tub??? It seems like so much work to take a bath! I thought they were supposed to be relaxing?!!!!

    5. Hey :) Some of us think cleaning is relaxing .. LOL. *crawls back to under her rock*

I rinse the tub immediately after I get out but otherwise once every 2-3 weeks?

    6. LOL. Weirdo...

Okay, once every 2-3 weeks is do-able. I think I'm ready to bathe! I can do it!

  2. WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

I am with the manager, how have you never taken a bath before?!! It's like, the BEST thing in the world. You need to get yourself one of these:

It holds your wine, a candle, and a book. Life is good. Lol.

    1. LOL, looks like I'm pretty controversial. ;)

Ooh, that's a really cute caddy! Except, I don't drink. Maybe I can put a nice glass of orange juice there, lol!

I am determined to take a bath this month. Maybe on one of my days off... I just need to clean my tub first...

    1. But then... don't you have like, bubbles and soap stuck to your skin afterwards?! And what happens if I wanna wash my hair? Do it before or after? So complicated...

By "someone," do you mean my mother? LOL.

  4. I love the idea of taking a bubble bath, but once I'm in the bath, I'm like.. NOW WHAT? I seriously don't have the patience to slip and slide in my bathtub for 30 minutes not knowing what to do! LOL.

Have you tried the MMM or the comforter? I have them both but I leave it in my closet and sniff at it every morning like a true Lush addict. It's crazy, I know!

Btw, I wash my hair everyday too! I can't NOT.

    1. LOL, read!!! I read while eating dinner and then I end up at the dining table for like, an HOUR because I'm so absorbed in the book. I could totally get lost in a book while in the tub. And then I'd probably forget to get out and get waterlogged and shrivelly...

I'm never tried the MMM or the Comforter. What are they? :P

Haha, YAYYYYY. Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I wash my hair everyday. I'm just too much of a germaphobe. I'm like "But then I have hairspray in my hair and then it'll get on my pillow and then I'll smear my face all over it..." Ack.

  5. Look how pretty the sex bomb is when it's in the water! http://www.cuteandmundane.com/2012/01/sunday-soak.html

LOL @ the bath debate! I know, it is troublesome. But it's so worth it to me when I'm soaking for half an hour. I take a rinse/shower depending on what I'm using. If the bath has oils and stuff that are good to leave on the skin, I take a shower BEFORE the bath. If the bath is soapy, I take a shower AFTER. It is an annoying 2-step process and of course there are those days when you just fall asleep after the bath... but whatever. Just do it, Denise. You'll figure it out. ;D

    1. It's also my dream to own a slave who will diligently clean the tub after each use. Where can we order one of those?

    2. OOOOH, Sex Bomb is SO PRETTY!!! I think it'll break my heart a little to actually use it, though, lol.

Okay, SEE, at least you've given me some good advice for the before/after shower! I will do just that. I think most Lush bath bombs have oils and things that are good to leave on the skin, so I'll most likely be showering before these ones. :) Question is, when you towel off, does all the good stuff come off with it? :P

Haha, Liz, you can get one called Molly Maid. :P

    3. You can always get another one, right? I can't keep track of what's permanent or LE at LUSH...

As for toweling off, I guess some will come off and some will already be absorbed in the skin? Pat lightly or just air dry, LOL.

I cleaned the tub and took a bath yesterday. I blame this conversation but it felt GOOD!

    4. I think Sex Bomb is permanent. Their LE bath bombs are usually holiday-themed, so it's a bit easier to tell with those... :)

LOL, did you air dry after your bath, Liz?

What do you clean your tub with?

Everyone takes baths like it's SO EASY, but there's so much to think about...
