MAC Fashion Flower: Lipsticks

MAC's Fashion Flower collection sees the release of four limited edition lipsticks, two of which are new and two of which are re-promotes. Of the four, I got three, opting to leave out Summer Shower (clear base with teal and purple shimmer). They are all in regular black packaging, contain 3 grams of product, and retail for $17.50 each.

Growing Trend, Mlle, Ever Hip

Growing Trend is an opaque medium beige nude in an Amplified finish. It is a new and limited edition shade. It feels creamy and goes on smoothly. This is like a darker version of Viva Glam Gaga 2, so for those who thought Gaga 2 was way too pale for them but still want a neutral nude might want to check this shade out.

Mlle (or "Mademoiselle") is a semi-opaque pale pink with blue undertones in a Glaze finish. It is a re-promote from the Femme Noir collection in 2003, and is limited edition. It feels quite smooth and creamy going on, but it tends to accentuate every bit of dryness and dead skin on the lips, so it is essential to exfoliate the lips before using this shade. This is very much the Playing Koi (from Quite Cute) of Fashion Flower. The shade itself is like a cooler version of Creme Cup.

Ever Hip is a semi-opaque light pink-coral in a Cremesheen finish. It is a re-promote from the Give Me Liberty of London collection from last March, and is limited edition. It goes on smooth, and has a glossy sheen. It definitely looks more bright and more orange in the tube and in the swatch, but it's really a soft pink-based coral shade when worn on the lips. It's like a lighter, slightly more sheer, and more pink version of Ravishing, but there really is no dupe for this shade from MAC.

Ever Hip will be, by far, the big seller of the collection as a whole, kind of like what Candy Yum-Yum lipstick was to the Quite Cute collection. A lot of the counters are already sold out of this shade, and it only came out last Thursday. If you're interested in the shade or didn't have a chance to pick it up from the Liberty of London collection last year, try your luck online!
