I finally made it to the BTS Pop-Up: Space of BTS in Toronto!

The pop-up store had opened up at the end of August to insanely long line-ups. As someone who has lined up for 5 hours for BTS merch before, I knew it wasn't going to be worth it for me to visit during the first couple weeks. (They had sold out of everything after two weeks and had to close down for a week to re-stock, anyway.) I have seen a lot of the merch that is carried at the pop-up stores globally, and all of the items are from the past 2 years that had previously been sold online. I figured that I would have already bought most of the items that I wanted when they were initially released, so I didn't feel the urgency to go until the opportunity came up. (My friend Carmen asked if I wanted to go to Eaton Centre on one of our days off, so that opportunity came up on Monday.) But I was right — I already have most of the merch I wanted already. But there were a few select items that caught my eye:

BTS Permission to Dance: On Stage Official Merch — Group Image Picket (US ver.) and Jungkook Premium Photo (US ver.)

I grabbed some of the Permission to Dance: On Stage merch that I originally wanted but was sold out when I went to Las Vegas (yes, that day I lined up for 5 hours), plus a couple of items that I thought were cute when they first launched but not cute enough to pay shipping for. I actually bought a bunch of the PTD: On Stage in Seoul items when they first became available last year, but they made different versions for their LA dates, so I bought the group picket and the Jungkook premium photo. (The reason why I specifically got the JK one is actually because the Seoul version one is in landscape orientation while all the other members' are in portrait, which irked the OCD in me.) I was actually kind of annoyed that there was PTD: On Stage merch available at all because we lined up for SO GODDAMN LONG at the concert to get merch and so much of it was sold out within the first hour of opening. It's really unfair for those of us who actually went to the shows.

The retail prices of the merch at the pop-up store here are inflated, and I assume it's because of the cost of currency exchange and import fees. (For example, a premium photo is usually about $9 USD on Weverse Shop, but the shipping cost to Canada is usually about $20 USD for that one item. One premium photo at the pop-up store is $25 CAD.) So don't be shocked at the price tags here — everything is still cheaper than buying it through Weverse Shop and paying for DHL shipping to Canada. Either way, it's a nice opportunity for those who missed out on initial launches from the past couple years to stock up now. If you're in Toronto and want to make a visit — and you still have until the end of December until it's gone — I highly suggest going at the beginning to middle of the week. I went around noon on a Monday and there were only a handful of people in the store, so it was the perfect time to peruse in peace.
