Unboxing: BTS Memories of 2021 Digital Code Set

Yes, it's that time of year again! BTS' Memories of 2021 has finally been released! The Memories set is my favourite annual release from BTS, not only because of the sheer amount of content that is included in it, but also because it includes all the behind-the-scenes of literally every single thing they've done over the course of the year — basically, all the stuff that isn't released to the public. You would think that 2021 was a total write-off, but BTS kept as busy as ever. (A pandemic ain't gonna stop the biggest musical act in the world from breaking records or hitting milestones or you know, being the biggest musical act in the world.) And lest we forget that 2021 marked BTS' most successful year in their career to date, Memories of 2021 is here just to remind us of that.

Memories of 2021 comes in three formats: Digital Code, DVD, and Blu-ray. This is the unboxing post for the Digital Code set only. The actual content is the same across all three types but the video footage is just presented in different formats. Because this is the Digital Code set, it does not come with a set of discs like the DVD or Blu-ray sets. Instead, there is a QR code on a card that will lead you to the Weverse registration page when scanned. (Note: You must have a Weverse account, which is free to sign up for.) After you register your set, it will lead you to the page for video streaming all of the video footage. As long as your Digital Code box set is registered, you can access the footage at any time from your Weverse account on your phone, tablet, or computer.

The BTS Memories of 2021 Digital Code Set retails for ₩95,000 or $88.25 USD on Weverse Global Shop. The Digital Code set comes in a pastel yellow and periwinkle colour scheme. Like the last four years, this year's Memories set comes in a ring binder format. The binder serves as the holder for the photobook, which has 214 pages consisting of photos from all their events in 2021 divided chronologically into 7 sections. It also includes a 2021 Today's Bangtan flip book; a set of 7 individual member postcards; a sheet of stickers; a randomized member photocard; and a QR code card that, when registered, leads to a whopping 530 minutes of video content. Each set also comes with an exclusive gift — the Digital Code edition's is an acrylic photo stand.

We also get the 2021 Today's Bangtan flip book, which features all the photos that were posted for Today's Bangtan in 2021 (BTS always poses for photos after every major event or performance, and their staff posts these photos on Twitter right after the event — these photos are called "Today's Bangtan"); and the requisite randomized member photocard, for which I got RM this time. As mentioned, for those who ordered the Digital Code version of Memories of 2021 on Weverse Shop, we also get an acrylic stand and a photo featuring BTS on MTV Unplugged as a bonus gift.
