Since my brother and sister-in-law are visiting for several days, my brother asked me to find a good place for a family dinner. So I immediately suggested a lobster tower. And who does Chinese lobster better than Fishman Lobster Clubhouse?

Steamed king crab
Steamed king crab
First up, the steamed king crab. A crab so fucking gigantic, that it's wider than an average human body and requires two platters to fit all the meat. Meat so smooth and silky that it slides right out of the shell with the full piece intact. And it's so fresh (well, they are alive right up until you order it) that it actually tastes sweet. I know this restaurant is famous for lobster (and rightfully so), but the crab really deserves an honourable mention.
Steamed bass
Next up, fresh steamed bass. Technically, the set menu we ordered comes with deep-fried bass, but we wanted something a bit healthier given the sheer amount of food we were going to eat. Drenched in sweet soy, topped with green onions. Standard fare at many Chinese restaurants, but reliably and humbly delicious.
LOBSTER MOUNTAIN
And finally, the LOBSTER MOUNTAIN. The whole reason we came here. Cooked Hong Kong-style, which basically means fried with approximately 18 bulbs of garlic and then topped with fries. Big hunks of fresh, sweet, fragrant lobster, with crispy, garlicky edges, miraculously stacked up over one foot high. It might be one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. The amount of lobster that you get on a single plate here is so insane that they have bypassed the term "lobster tower" and gone straight to "lobster mountain." And we had three trays of leftovers to take home so we are feasting on lobster until 2022.
This was the best idea, ever.
