BTS 7FATES: CHAKHO: Official Film Story and CCTV Live

Did I just watch a 34-minute video of fake CCTV footage featuring BTS? Yes, yes, I did.

Equal parts creepy, mysterious, and Paranormal Activity. Here's what we discover:

  • Jin stops in front of door number 06164. After some research, I found out that this is a postal code for the Gangnam district in Seoul.
  • Once Jimin vanishes from his room, the frames against the wall suddenly feature artwork with the numbers "2022" in one and "0101" in another. I can only deduct that this is the date, January 1, 2022.
  • Jin and Namjoon are the only ones that look directly into the cameras.
  • Once Namjoon vanishes from the dance studio, the frame against the wall features artwork with the word, "COEX."
  • Yoongi disappears along with the couch, making him the only one that vanishes with another object, and the words, "Super Casting," are left on the floor where the couch was. After looking this up, it's actually the title of a new Webtoon collaboration project by Naver, which had been mentioned in the HYBE Briefing last month.
  • Hobi appears in the same dance studio that Namjoon just disappeared from. The artwork in the frame that said, "COEX," has been replaced by another graphic that's a little hard to see, but it looks a bit like a DJ booth?
  • Once Hobi vanishes, there are two series of numbers on the mirror: 37.50949631748894 and 127.062222570716427. So I did what anyone would do and Googled it. As it turns out, it's the coordinates for COEX Screen Square in Gangnam, Seoul.
  • After Tae disappears from the car, a Polaroid appears hanging from the rearview mirror, featuring the silhouette of seven people, which I assume are the members, but also harkens back to the Polaroid from the BTS Universe. (The one that Jimin burns at the end of the "Run" MV.)
  • On the side table next to where Kookie is sitting, there's a book called, "Who Moved My Cheese?" Upon Googling this, it's apparently a book about "the way one reacts to major change in one's work and life." Basically, it's about anticipating and adapting to change.
  • Once Kookie vanishes, there's a shadow of the Webtoon logo on the floor.
  • It seems like they're all waiting for someone or something.
  • The members all seem unfamiliar with the spaces they're in, but aren't uncomfortable.
  • They all disappear in sequence rather than at the same time.

From these clues, we can hypothesize that there will be some sort of event for Naver's Super Casting project on New Year's Day 2022 at COEX Screen Square, and it will feature BTS' upcoming Webtoon, 7FATES: CHAKHO. Although we don't really know what the event will entail and I can't go to it anyway, I will say, that was a very creative, somewhat convoluted way of introducing a Webtoon project. But I AM INTRIGUED. I actually can't wait for the actual Webtoon to launch. I'm still a little bitter that they never released a sequel to Save Me.
