Went over to visit my friends Chelsea and Braden today and we had ourselves a late-night BBQ dinner:
Greek salad with spring mix
Grilled sweet potatoes
Corn on the cob
Cheeseburger on a pretzel bun
We had decided to make burgers tonight because there's not that many days of summer left and we didn't know how many more barbecues we could have until it's too cold to grill outside. (It's already dropped down to an average of 15°C at night here.) I had made a visit to Whole Foods to get some gluten-free burger buns for Chelsea and regular burger buns for me and Braden, and decided to try out these pretzel buns. They're not photogenic at all, but man, they are DELICIOUS. (They're slightly denser than regular white burger buns and have an excellent chew.) Paired with the grilled homemade beef patties, old cheddar, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayo. Sides included Greek salad with spring mix, corn on the cob with butter and salt, and grilled sweet potatoes. Finally, yuzu and blueberry sorbet for dessert, a perfect ending to a great summer meal.

Hopefully, we can squeeze in another BBQ before end of summer...
