This week's Friday Five:
- What kiddie song do you still like as a grownup? Okay, so this might not technically be a "kiddie song," but "A Whole New World" is a song that was from my childhood (Aladdin was the first movie I ever watched in a theatre) that I still love.
- When did a new song most recently get you excited? Obviously:
- What song were you introduced to via television ad or as background in a movie or TV show? There are too many to count, but "Kids in America" by The Muffs as the opening song to Clueless will always be iconic to me.
- Which song's opening lyric do you especially love? Our Lady Peace's "Is Anybody Home?" — "Goodbye, the future's sold out. There's no use screaming. Who thought we'd ever get this far?"
- With which five songs would you begin a weekend-themed playlist? I've made two playlists, one BTS and one non-BTS. Because that's basically how I separate my music these days. Also, these are more just songs that put me in a good mood and thus equate them with weekends, rather than songs about the weekend.
1. BTS — "Butter"
2. BTS — "Permission to Dance"
3. BTS — "So What"
4. BTS — "Stay"
5. BTS (feat. Halsey) — "Boy With Luv"
1. MGMT — "Electric Feel"
2. Spoon — "Got Nuffin"
3. The Kills — "Last Day of Magic"
4. The Naked and Famous — "Punching in a Dream"
5. Silversun Pickups — "Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance)"
