Unboxing: BTS Global Official Fanclub — Merch Box #1

My second Christmas-present-to-myself-but-not-really-because-I-ordered-this-months-ago: Merch Box #1 from the BTS ARMY Global Fanclub Membership! The biggest change in this year's membership was the addition of the Merch Pack Membership option. The price of this membership is $150 USD rather than the usual $22 (neither of these memberships include the official membership kit, though, which is a separate item at $13 with the purchase of a membership), but it comes with four merch boxes during the membership period. A lot of people were furious about the price of this Merch Pack Membership because shipping isn't included, so the $150 price tag ends up being closer to $250 (or more, depending on where you live) after shipping costs. But I still saw it as being worth it, considering each merch box comes with about $50 - 100 worth of merch, and they're all exclusive membership items that you can't get otherwise.

Which brings me to the contents of Merch Box #1, which arrived the day after my Membership Kit. The main item in this box is a huge wearable blanket. The blanket is dark grey and features a print of the BTS and ARMY logos (one on each side) in a repeating pattern in black. The trim is in a deep purple colour with BTS and their logo on one end, and ARMY with the ARMY logo on the other end. And it has black fringe to frame the edges. It even includes a User Guide:

• Use it with an ARMY Bomb to complete your concert look.
• Warm yourself in the chilly seasons as a cover-up.
• Use it anywhere, anytime as a comfy lap blanket.
• Sky's the limit, make it your fashion item to create your own look.

Okay, I LOVE THIS BLANKET. First of all, I'm so glad they made it in dark, neutral shades, so it goes with everything. (Hence why 99% of my own wardrobe is black and my all my furniture is grey.) Secondly, they made the logos patterned in a way that mimics high-end designers like Gucci or LV, so it looks like a luxury product. It'll look good both in your home and on your body. Thirdly, it's soft. I was worried because this type of weaved fabric looks like it could be stiff, but it's not. Fourth, IT'S WEARABLE. There is a big slit in the centre of the blanket so you can actually put your head through it and wear it like a poncho. As someone who wears blankets all the time by wrapping them around my shoulders, but also finds it annoying when they inevitably slip off because I'm on the laptop typing or gaming or whatever, I think this is genius. Fifth, IT'S CUTE AF. This blanket arrived just in time for winter.

The other items in the box are a big fabric poster and an actual photograph featuring the boys in an exclusive photoshoot that they did just for the membership kits. They are also cute AF. Overall, I totally think this merch membership is worth it, judging on the first Merch Kit alone. I would honestly have bought the blanket on its own (I have other BTS/BT21 blankets as well and use them all the time), which would easily retail for $60, as well as the fabric poster, which would retail for at least $25 (judging from the last fabric poster I bought). I get that the price might be steep for many, especially paying that amount upfront, but for someone like me who is an avid BTS merch collector (and is also used to high shipping costs), I don't regret this membership even a little.
