This week's Friday Five:
- When were you a stick in the mud? I'm not necessarily unadventurous or against change by nature, but I have gotten a bit hesitant to do anything during this pandemic. What can I say, I have high blood pressure and diabetes and can't risk getting COVID.
- What's a real stick-to-your-ribs meal you enjoy? Korean fried chicken with a side of tteokbokki!
- When did you most recently regret sticking around for something? Honestly, nothing recently 'cause I haven't stuck around for anything since this pandemic started. But I do really regret sticking around for my old job at MAC. I left about two years after I first contemplated quitting.
- When did you recently navigate a sticky situation? Well, I don't know if this qualifies as a sticky situation but that whole issue of my upstairs neighbour (a.k.a. the raging asshole neighbour) making INSANE CONSTRUCTION NOISES (e.g. drilling, hammering, etc.) from 8:00AM EVERY FUCKING DAY for a month-and-a-half? Yeah, it kept going. So I called the management office again. Twice. I called the main manager on Tuesday morning because I, again, had had enough. He ended up coming up to my suite to listen to it for himself. Even he had to admit it was insanely loud.
He said he would go check it out and see when they would be finishing their "project" (quite frankly, I don't know what the fuck else they could possibly be fixing at this point). He never got back to me, but coincidentally, it has been suspiciously quiet over the last two days. I'm crossing all my fingers and flexible toes that the raging asshole neighbour has finished re-doing every single thing in his unit. (Seriously. It's a brand new apartment building. What the fuck are you fixing for over 45 days?)
- What recently gave you sticker shock? Um, those Neighborhood x BT21 hoodies I bought last week? Frankly, the prices weren't that shocking since a basic Neighborhood hoodie normally goes for ¥22,000 (about $215 USD) but I still spent $150 USD (plus shipping) for two hoodies which was, by all admission, pretty ridiculous of me.

ReplyDeleteThe raging asshole neighbour has been relatively quiet over the past few days, so I'm getting suspicious. Like, is this the calm before the (second) storm? Or is he finally done re-building his entire unit including kitchen, bathroom, and den?
I think the whole world will be sleeping a little better this evening! Congrats on your new president! America isn't as hopeless as I thought it was! :)
