Everything about Day 1 of BTS' Map of the Soul ON:E virtual concert was flawless. From the set designs to the production to the costuming to the set list, it was nothing short of spectacular.
Day 1 Set List:
ON
N.O
We are Bulletproof, Pt. 2
Intro: Persona
Boy in Luv
Dionysus (Remix)
Interlude: Shadow
Black Swan
UGH!
00:00 (Zero O'Clock)
My Time
Filter
Moon
Inner Child
Outro: Ego
Boy With Luv (Remix)
DNA
Dope
No More Dream
Butterfly
Run
Dynamite
We are Bulletproof: The Eternal
There were too many highlights to count: the epic opening performance for "ON"; Namjoon's intensity and power for "Intro: Persona"; Jimin's stunning contemporary dance to the "Black Swan" instrumental mix; the whole boxing theme for "UGH!"; EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT JUNGKOOK DURING "MY TIME" (with the crotch caressing and shirt lifting and sensual body rolls, it was literally the sexiest performance I have ever seen in my life and made the entire collective fandom pregnant); EVERY SINGLE THING ABOUT JIMIN DURING "FILTER" (y'all, this was a back-to-back attack of sensual crotch grabbing and also made the entire fandom pregnant and thus we will all need to sue for double child support); the comeback of "Butterfly" live after four years; and finally, "We are Bulletproof: The Eternal," the ultimate culmination of the relationship between BTS and ARMY.
Truly, it was heartbreaking hear the boys talk about the struggles of getting through this pandemic and putting so much work into these performances — which they started practicing a year ago in anticipation of their biggest global tour to date — but not being able to show it to anyone. There's no other way of putting it: 2020 robbed all of us. I refused to give up my soundcheck tickets for the Map of the Soul tour when Ticketmaster was offering refunds in hopes that things will "go back to normal" by the end of this year, but chances are looking slim to none. As we're heading into the official second wave of this pandemic, we don't know what the future of the world is going to be or if we'll ever be able to live our lives like before again. So, yeah, I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of Day 2 of Map of the Soul ON:E because I'm starting to lose hope that we'll ever be able to go to live concerts again.

Suffice it to say, it was an emotional roller coaster. Like, you're in awe with the stages of all these songs that they're finally performing for the first time ever, but then you're thirsting for these guys who are WAY YOUNGER than you, and then you're cooing because they are so goddamn adorable, and then you're sobbing at the end with a runny nose and tissues everywhere because Jimin started sobbing during ending ments, after he admitted that he couldn't give this concert his all because they still weren't able to meet us in person after so much time and effort.
