I hadn't been to Boston Pizza in years. I used to go very frequently with my old crew of guy friends because they're all sports fanatics, but I decided those outings got really boring (I am not a sports fanatic) and the food got really boring. Which is why I immediately noticed that they changed up their menu. So we decided to share the Pesto Caprese thin crust pizza (pesto sauce, bocconcini cheese, roasted garlic, balsamic-roasted cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, fresh arugula, parmesan, finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze) and the The Hungry Carnivore pasta (spicy Italian sausage, meatballs, pepperoni, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, and green peppers, tossed with penne and beefy Bolognese). Basically, I wanted the hardcore meat pasta and my mom was like, "That's too much meat," so I off-set it with the vegetarian pizza and she shut up.
But what was surprising was that both were actually good? And they didn't make me feel bloated or sick afterwards? And even my mom enjoyed it? Don't know if Boston Pizza upped their game or we were just way too fucking hungry, but either way, it's a rare occasion with both me and my mother agree on something, so that's saying something.
