This week's Monday Poll:
- Tacos or burritos? Tacos, always and forever. Not that I'd say no to a burrito, it's just not my first choice. Tacos come in more varieties like steak, chicken, fish, shrimp, etc., but they also have the perfect filling-to-wrap ratio. And they're the perfect size, too, so you can get three or four different ones and try out different salsas and sauces or whatever. Burritos come with a lot of different fillings, of course, but they're usually huge and thus more cumbersome to eat, and I get sick of it about halfway through. I'd rather have a rice bowl than a burrito.
- Do you consider gift-with-purchases when you buy makeup? Depends on what the GWP is. If it's a full-size GWP and a product that I would actually use (which is extremely rare), I would consider it. But if it's those GWPs that just come with like, deluxe samples and a cosmetics bag, absolutely not. I was in the cosmetics retail industry for 15 years, so GWPs aren't exciting to me at all (though they really help with sales, and when I worked on commission, my paycheques would almost double during GWP month). Plus, I literally throw away every single one of those GWPs. In fact, when salespeople offer me samples, I tell them to keep them. I loathe samples. (Unless it's food samples at Costco. Those are bomb.)
- What's your ride-or-die MAC lipstick? It was Liptensity Lipstick in Doe, a.k.a. the best nude shade ever made. But they discontinued the whole Liptensity range last year due to patent reasons, which was a travesty because it was my favourite lipstick formula of all time (creamy, pigmented, non-drying, slip-free, and long-wearing — my holy grail). I still have two back-ups, but once they're gone, my ride-or-die will probably go back to Viva Glam II, which was my ride-or-die until Doe.
- The last person (or people) you took a long car trip with? My friends Chelsea and Corrado; we took a road trip to Montreal in 2016. In the past few years, I've only ever gone to the US, and I always fly there. Perhaps I should plan another road trip. Maybe head out to the East Coast? Go to Nova Scotia to eat lobster or PEI for mussels... Like, a nice Maritimes seafood trip! Ooh, that sounds really nice. I'll see if anyone would be interested to go with me. (You can try way more food with two or more people. Gotta plan accordingly.)
- Do you bite your nails (or have you in the past)? I did when I was in Grade 1 or 2, but it wasn't a habit that lasted long. I did it out of boredom more than anything else, and I only bit my nails in class. I never did at home. But I stopped after maybe a year or so.
