It is currently just past 8:00AM and I am still awake because I stayed up to watch the 2019 MAMA. BTS' "Past to Future" performance at the 2019 MAMA was iconic, to say the least. It wasn't as visually epic or memorable as their performance at the 2019 MMA, but the message behind their stage at the 2019 MAMA was far more important, especially for ARMY. I never thought I'd ever see them perform "N.O" or "We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2" ever again, even though we got a hint of it at their performance at the 2019 MMA a few days ago. These are the performances that they never got a chance to show at MAMA when they were released because no one wanted them on their stage or to win any awards.
But people are paying attention now, and they're making sure everyone knows their history — the struggles of being the underdog for so many years, and coming out victorious as the world's biggest musical act now through sheer hard work, dedication, and their fans' undying love and loyalty. Not only did we get a 30-minute performance from them, but they won nine total awards, with another Daesang all-kill. This honestly is unheard of in the history of MAMA, a show where BTS was notoriously ignored or snubbed in previous years in favour of other groups from "Big 3" companies. Now, in 2019, BTS are the first act in history to have won all four Daesangs at MAMA, and have also become the act with the most Daesangs won in total at the award show, and the first act to win all four Daesangs at both MAMA and MMA. This is a record-breaking moment in music history, and I'm so lucky I got to witness it.
