Photolog 2019: Day 330 of 365

Back in July, BigHit announced the Global Official Fanclub ARMY Membership. BTS has always had a fanclub but you had to join through their fancafe, which is all in Korean. It's not impossible for an international ARMY to join, but you have to make a certain amount of posts, complete activities, and answer crazy challenge questions to "level up" in the fancafe, so it's extremely difficult for someone who isn't fluent in Korean to do anything there. Thus, after many years of begging from international ARMY, BigHit finally decided to make a global fanclub for all ARMY. Obviously, I joined on the first day it was made available in July. It's $30 USD to register, and the membership comes with an ARMY Membership Card, an ARMY Membership Kit, access to exclusive ARMY Membership merch, early reservation tickets and ticket raffle opportunities for domestic BTS performances (this really only applies to those in Korea, or those visiting Korea during specific performance time periods), opportunities to attend domestic TV music program broadcasts (again, only for those in Korea, 'cause they only do music programs there), exclusive access to BTS Weverse Membership Only content (image, audio, and video content), plus opportunities to participate in online and offline special events (e.g. raffles for BTS open broadcast merch or raffles for signed group photographs).

The kits are delivered the quarter after you register, and I finally got mine today. Technically, we're not supposed to reveal any fanclub exclusives anywhere, but I figure that since the kit contents are posted on Weply (BigHit's official merch app), I can show a select few things. This year's kit has a movie theme, with the outer box is designed like a clapboard. The kit includes your membership card, an ARMY.ZIP gel ink pen, a name tag with lanyard, a badge pin (shaped like a movie ticket), a roll of washi tape, a "movie review" notebook, a "user guide" (featuring Jin), photocards for all seven members featuring their individual movie posters (also in the shape of movie tickets), a massive A1 size BTS movie poster (in which the boys are looking MIGHTY FINE), and a gorgeous magazine-like photobook complete with individual photoshoots, interviews, and chronologies. I've never been apart of a fanclub before (I begged my parents to let me join the Spice Girls one and the Backstreet Boys one in elementary school, but they wouldn't let me), so I'm making up for the lean years. (Plus, I love BTS more than I have ever loved any musical entity, so it really worked out for the better.) At the very least, BigHit recognizes me as an official, registered fan of BTS now, so my life is basically complete.
