HAPPY JIMIN DAY! In honour of Jimin's birthday today, my friend Ying and I went to Soul Cafe this afternoon for the Jimin global birthday event in Toronto. (For those who aren't familiar, many popular BTS fansites will host cafe events around the world for members' birthdays every year. There are a lot of them in Korea, but generous hosts will prepare something in other cities around the world. Toronto was lucky enough to have one this year, prepared by @jamaisvujung and @aeygojimin, who hosted the event with @piecesofmind_jm, the fansite that took all the photos and created all the goods for the event!) Unlike last time for Jungkook's birthday event, when Chelsea and I went near the end of the day and there was nothing left (not only cup sleeves or photocards, but there was literally no pastries left), we made sure to go right when the event started so we could actually get the cup sleeve and the photocard and some tasty treats.

We arrived right at 1:00PM, when the event started, but there was already quite a big line-up out the door when we got there. So we joined the line and waited patiently as the hosts of the event, along with other super-nice ARMY, handed out some lovely photocards and stickers to us. We waited for about an hour in line and finally got in the cafe (it's a small space and they can only let so many people in at a time for safety reasons). To participate in the cup sleeve event, you have to order a drink, so I decided on a green tea latte and Ying got a grapefruit tea. We were surprised to get both of the cup sleeves available 'cause it's usually one per person, but I later learned that the first 100 people in line would receive both cup sleeves. We were #96 and #97 in line, so it was serendipitous! (Har, har, har! PUN WAS TOTALLY INTENDED.) Since we also didn't eat before going to the event, we decided to have dessert for breakfast because we live on the edge like that. So we chose a slice of strawberry shortcake and a lemon blueberry tart to share, and had a most splendid tea time. We spent another five minutes looking around the space and taking photos before leaving so the next group of people could go in. Even though we waited an hour in the brisk outdoors just to spend 20 minutes in the cafe, it was still totally worth it. Because Park Jimin deserves all of our time, love, and respect. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIMINIE!
