So I got a package about a month ago that I totally forgot about. (This is what happens when you do too much online shopping.) I got around to opening it today and inside was the Dispatch Magazine D-icon Behind BTS photo book set I ordered. This photo book was initially released last year for a five-day run, but it sold out so fast that fans were begging Dispatch to print it again. So this April, they released it again in a set with BTS: Welcome, First Time with BTS?, a lovely (but poorly translated) magazine book about the history of BTS, exclusively on Gmarket. I missed out on it last year, so I snapped it up the moment I saw the announcement on Twitter. Good thing, too, 'cause it sold out in a couple days.
Dispatch has done BTS' most iconic photoshoots, and this one really is no different. This book features the rooftop shoot they did last year in LA, along with behind the scenes photos from rehearsals, music video shoots, and award shows from 2017 to 2018. The package also includes a set of small photocards and larger photo postcards featuring the same rooftop shoot, as well as a big fabric poster of a shot from the Seoul Music Awards this year. I have a somewhat love/hate relationship with Dispatch, because on the one hand, they will do whatever it takes to get a shot or gossip on Korean celebrities with little to no boundaries. But on the other hand, they do some stunning photography work, which frankly, is their only redeeming quality.
