BigHit totally surprised us by releasing the "ARMY With Luv" version of "Boy With Luv" today. What's the difference, you ask? Firstly, the track in this video is actually the version that is on the album and official streaming services. (It is different from the version found in their original video. Halsey has a much bigger singing part in this version, and some of her lines are different. For example, in the first video, Jungkook sings, "You got me high so fast" after the first "Oh my my my, oh my my my." In the second video and album version of the song, Halsey sings, "I've waited all my life" after the first "Oh my my my, oh my my my.") Secondly, Halsey shows up way more in the "ARMY With Luv" version. I think this is what the general public expected when they saw that Halsey was a feature on this track. The original video features Halsey's vocals somewhat minimally, probably because it's the version of the song that BTS will be performing at their live stages (since Halsey won't actually be there in person to perform with them). Thirdly, this version of the video shows the boys in a way more candid, more playful, more chaotic way; some of the scenes look like blooper reels, complete with messed up takes (the one at 3:48 is my favourite), and this is the Bangtan that we know and love. The first version is more for artistic integrity, for the general public to see what BTS is all about. This version? This was made just for us.
