- What's a stupid lyric from a song you like? "Did you see my bag? Did you see my bag? / It's hella trophies and it's hella thick / What you think 'bout that? What you think 'bout that? / I bet it got my haters hella sick." ("MIC Drop" by BTS)
- What's a pretty good lyric from a song you dislike? "Sometimes I'm afraid of all this / Because I came to have so many things that I love / Some say you're almost an old fossil now / You're not qualified, just do what you've been doing well / But I still want to be a hero / All I can give you is Anpan / And a word, "You've worked hard" / But I'll fly to you right away if you call me." ("Anpanman" by BTS)
- What's a good non-Weird-Al-Yankovic lyric about food and drink? "Drink a cup of warm tea / Looking up at the Milky Way / You'll be fine / This is Magic Shop." ("Magic Shop" by BTS)
- What's a good song lyric to describe your week? "I worked so hard and earned my pay / Gonna spend it all on my stomach / Pinching pennies to spend it all on wasting it / Let me be, even though I overspend / Tomorrow morning, I may act crazy / And break apart my savings." ("Go Go" by BTS)
- What’s a good song lyric about inclement weather? "Over the winter lake, I was thrown / A thick ice has formed / In the dream I shortly went into / My agonizing phantom pain is still the same." ("Singularity" by BTS)
You think "all I can give you is anpan" is a pretty good lyric? :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, more so in the context of the song because it's about them not having many powers but still doing whatever they can to help people even if they have nothing left (hence comparing themselves to Anpanman because he's not a powerful superhero but he does the best he can to save others). So in the song, "all I can give you is Anpan" really means "all I can give you is me." I would agree that taken out of context, it's not a great lyric, but it helps drive the point home in the song. It's also apart of a rap, so I'm sure some words were used for the sake of rhyming and flow in Korean.
DeleteI mean, honestly, this would've been easier to do if I was referencing non-BTS songs, but I challenged myself, lol.
