MAC x Nicki Minaj: Lipstick in The Right Note, Stripped, A Girl's Got Needs, Easy Babe, Mmmmmm, Baby's All Right, Among the Fireflies, and Age/Sex/Location

Last Thursday, MAC launched their collaboration with American rapper and singer, Nicki Minaj: "Nicki Minaj dominates fans’ hearts and hip-hop charts with her bravado and razor-sharp rhymes. With her unstoppable seductive power, the queen is set to conquer the world. Her latest tease? Revealing her custom-designed nude lipsticks for MAC. Get cheeky and take charge with Nicki’s two suggestive shades." This collection features a total of 26 products, 14 of which are new and limited edition, four of which are re-promotes, and eight of which are permanent. MAC x Nicki Minaj sees the launch of 20 lipsticks; two were exclusively created by Nicki Minaj, and 18 shades were selected by her and MAC to round out this nude lip collection. These 18 shades are housed in regular black tubes, though the boxes have colour-matched tops. Each lipstick contains a total of 3 grams of product, and retails for $22. These lipsticks will be applicable as free products in the Back to MAC recycling program two weeks after the launch date (October 5).

The Right Note is a light-medium warm muted peachy brown in a Cremesheen finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium pigmentation and semi-sheer to semi-opaque colour pay-off. It is more brown than Jubilee, more sheer than Cherish, and more brown than Hug Me.

Stripped is a light warm peachy beige in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is more brown than Kinda Sexy, darker and more peach than Honeylove, and lighter and more peach than Velvet Teddy.

A Girl's Got Needs is a light-medium warm yellow-toned brown in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is more brown than Velvet Teddy, lighter and more yellow than Spirit, and darker than Yash. 

Easy Babe is a medium neutral-cool latte brown in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is lighter and less pink than Whirl, cooler than Taupe, and cooler and more matte than Spirit.

It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is lighter and cooler than Mehr, cooler than Brave, and lighter and cooler than Twig.

Baby's All Right is a medium cool dirty mauve pink in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is cooler and darker than Faux, lighter and more pink than Whirl, and cooler and more grey than Brave.

Among the Fireflies is a medium-dark warm rosy brown in a Cremesheen finish. This is a re-promoted shade from 2015's Faerie Whispers collection, and is limited edition. It has a soft, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker and more brown than Creme in Your Coffee, more brown than Capricious, and darker and more brown than Viva Glam VI. 

Age/Sex/Location is a medium neutral-cool mauvey brown in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is cooler than Velvet Teddy, lighter and more brown than Whirl, and darker and cooler than Viva Glam II.

Calling all nude lipstick fanatics! This collection will be right up your alley. There's something for everyone, with a variety of finishes, undertones, and shades for all skintones. I only bought the eight shades here as they're all in the mid-tone range that will flatter the most skintones — I did not buy any of the permanent or re-promoted shades (with the exception of Among the Fireflies, which I did not buy when it was originally launched) — so if you're interested in lighter or darker shades than these, there are several more options to check out. I want to note that the shades here have been released as apart of the Nicki Minaj collection, but are not designed by Nicki — they're accompanying shades to make a full "nude" lip collection. There are dupes of these in MAC's permanent collection, of course, but those who are serious about their nudes will note the variances in undertones and finishes that make these different enough to be worth getting.
