It's taking some time, but Tegan and Sara's latest record is slowly growing on me. It's not as immediately catchy and radio-friendly as Heartthrob or as angsty and dark as their older albums like The Con, but it's somehow more honest and heartfelt than a lot of their previous efforts while still feeling buoyant and poppy. They used to hide behind a lot of veiled lyrics, not wanting to offend anyone, not wanting to mention specifics, but Love You to Death is blunt, personal, and getting everything out in the open — it seems like they just want to let the past go, and finally start a new chapter.

I am having a shit night but this cheered me up, so thanks! This does sound better than other tracks from this album so far.

DeleteI'm not loving all the tracks on this record but this song is definitely one of my faves.
