It's a throwback to the '90s! I can see why these were brought back from deep inside MAC's archives. All three eyeshadows have amazing textures — soft, smooth, pigmented, with great colour pay-off. Butterscotch is my must-have from this collection, only because it is so incredibly versatile and there's nothing similar to this in MAC's current permanent range (and chances are you don't already have this shade unless you picked it up in the '80s!). Works beautifully on all skintones; a great transition shade for light skintones, all-over lid shade for medium skintones, and highlighting shade for darker skintones. Not the most exciting colour, but it's one that goes well with everything. Fiction is a wonderful addition for fans of khaki-greens, and is different enough from all of MAC's permanent offerings to be worth picking up. The only shade here that's not a must-have for me here is Diesel, only because MAC has so many dark greys in their permanent range. If you're on the market for a dark gunmetal shade, this is a fantastic option because the texture is gorgeous and it applies beautifully, but it's very likely that you already have something similar from MAC. In any case, if you're interested in any of these, they are available online now. Snatch 'em up before they're gone!
Diesel is pretty sexy! It has just enough blue to not be a total snoozefest charcoal.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Weirdly enough, I actually don't own Knight Divine, so I'm really glad I got Diesel. :) I really love all these shades. MAC should really bring back some of their retro shades permanently. Don't know why they got rid of them to begin with.
DeleteAs a sucker for grey shades I so want Diesel. Shame it's only available online.
DeleteIf you have Knight Divine, they are very similar!
DeleteACK I LOVE ALL THREE. Dangit. Especially Butterscotch and Fiction, though! But I don't want to make an order...hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous, though, with such lovely, buttery textures... Worth putting in an order! ;) And since you need to get Lady Danger, anyway...
Deletei'm liking all but the yellow. and YES LARIE SHOULD GET LADY DANGER! (which i have and is awesome)
ReplyDeleteWeirdly enough, I think the yellow is my favourite. A serious workhorse shade; not the most intriguing, but definitely the most versatile.
DeleteLady Danger IS spectacular. My go-to summer shade. :)
I'm the shitty one who says I'm not all that keen on any of these! Maybe Diesel - I could use a good charcoal/gunmetal shade. I'm glad to hear the textures are awesome across the board. I think I just love lipstick SO MUCH that eyeshadows are all 'whatever' to me right now lol
ReplyDeleteLOL, it doesn't make you shitty -- these shades aren't for everyone. But these were the winners in the poll, so just blame the voters. :P
DeleteLips are still having a huge moment right now. Eyes have sort of fallen by the wayside, lol. I think it's because it's so much easier to create a lip look than an eye look, too. I'm the same way -- I'll look at lipsticks and want ALL OF THEM, but eyeshadows can be very "meh" to me, lol.
I remember Fiction being a frequently-mentioned shade when I first started getting into MAC. I feel like it must've been part of the permanent range at some point, no? I'm pretty sure I had it, actually, but at one point I had a full MAC palette inside a suitcase that got stolen so if I had Fiction, I don't have it anymore! These aren't the most exciting colours to look at, but they're certainly good ones to have.
ReplyDeleteYes, Fiction was permanent and then discontinued, so it's quite possible that you did have it!
