Bad Girl RiRi is a medium-dark warm rosy brown in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is more pink than Taupe, slightly lighter and more pink than Retro, and slightly darker than Twig.
Pleasure Bomb is a medium-dark vibrant cool-toned reddened fuchsia pink in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is very similar though slightly more pink than All Fired Up, similar though more matte than Impassioned, and cooler and more pink than Relentlessly Red.
RiRi Woo is a medium-dark vibrant blue-toned red in a Retro Matte finish. This is a re-promoted shade from all previous RiRi ♥ MAC collections. The texture is on the drier, stiffer side, so there will be some tugging or pulling upon application, though it goes on evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. As this is a play on Ruby Woo, they are incredibly similar, though RiRi Woo is very slightly darker and cooler in swatches — on the lips, the difference is incredibly minute. It is brighter and cooler than Russian Red, and darker and less pink than MAC Red.
I actually love all the lipstick shades launched with this rendition of RiRi ♥ MAC. I think it goes without saying that all lipsticks that are released with any of the RiRi ♥ MAC collections will sell out and sell out fast regardless of what the actual colours look like (as witnessed with her Fall collection). But I actually think all three shades are universally flattering (though I do think the shades launched with Rihanna's online Summer collection are more on-trend for this season). In fact, at the time of this post going up, I think I can safely say that all MAC locations as well as their website are sold out of these (some stores were sold out literally within ten minutes of opening on launch day), so for most, this will act purely as an informational review rather than a post to tempt you into buying these lipsticks (apologies in advance if you're lemming these!). But don't worry, if you're not interested in these for the packaging (and/or Rihanna's association with them), then there are plenty of dupes in MAC's permanent range for you to choose from.
I actually really like the look of these but I guess so did everyone else. Checked out the counter on the first day and already sold out, LOL.
ReplyDeleteLOL, yeeeep. But I think it sold out fast more so because of the Rihanna association, 'cause look at that hideous grey nude and frosted orange that came out with the Fall collection. With any other collection, they wouldn't be able to move at all, but because they were Rihanna, they sold out within hours.
DeleteThough, to be fair, these shades are much more flattering and on-trend. :P Pleasure Bomb sold out especially fast. I know counters that sold out of the lipsticks literally within minutes of opening. Girls were lining up at like, 7:00am. It was ridiculous.
Pleasurebomb TOTALLY calls my name, but I think I have a similar shade in my stash that I'll have to make do with since I missed my chance! Great swatches Denise :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl! If you're interested in getting a shade that's almost identical to Pleasure Bomb, you should check out All Fired Up, which is permanent! :)
