Hm, not really. Curries are more common - like Thai Red/Green curry, Indian curries, etc. I do know of 1 restaurant that serves Pho and it's pretty good. Just..doesn't look as good as yours though :)
Ramen - not so much. I've only had Tempura Udon a few times. Haven't really seen much Ramen. Oh wait, there's one Japanese restaurant with stir fried Ramen, it's quite good.
I think I just dream of what we have back in Malaysia - heaps of restaurants offering all types of noodles. I think it will happen here, eventually. Just not yet.
Is it weird that you guys have more curry than noodles? I think Toronto is so saturated with so many different cultures that we have tons of every type of food. I think I take it for granted sometimes...
It makes me sad that you can't participate in lots of noodle soup goodness. :(
When are you going back to Malaysia? When you do, are you going to overdose on noodles? LOL.
For some reason, I always eat wayyyy more pho than any other type of noodle soup. It's not even my favourite, but my friends love it so we always go. But I prefer ramen (and udon and ho fun) more than pho.
I don't have one! I rarely go out to eat Korean and when I do, it doesn't seem worth it to get ramen. I eat the instant stuff at home, lol. But damn it if I don't love pho.
This is the thing... real ramen (from a Japanese restaurant, whether or not it's run by Japanese people) is sooooo different from instant ramen. If the ramen I've ordered from a Korean restaurant is any indication, it's the same thing as the instant stuff. Ramen from Ajisen, Kenzo, Niwatei -- all really, really good.

You're killing me :) It's 2 C now and I'd kill for a bowl of ramen. Actually, a bowl of any noodle soup. *DROOOOL*
ReplyDeleteHaha, sorry, Fieran. :P Is noodle soup common over there?

OMG, looks so good. I've been eating a lot of ramen, too. Twice this week - probably once more before it's over, lol.
