This week's Survey Says... from Temptalia:
- Your skintone/colouring? Medium with yellow/olive undertones (NC35), dark brown hair and eyes.
- Worst beauty product you've ever used? MAC Big Bounce Eyeshadow.
- What did you end up doing with it? I think it's in my Back to MAC recycling bag.
- Did you lose faith in the brand? No, I think MAC still comes out with some great products in fantastic shades. There have been some questionable limited edition products, but in the end, it's a brand with quality products that I love and have been using for years. And as a make-up artist, I still see them as the leader in make-up in terms of trend, innovation, and variety.
Okay, when we meet up you are totally going to assess my MAC colouring! My winter skin is NC25ish but I just friggin' never know if that varies from product to product.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I will do my best to eye your skintone! But it does vary from product to product. Like, I'm an NC40 in Studio Fix Powder, but I am an NC35 in Studio Fix Fluid. So it depends on which product you wanna try!
DeleteP.S. I have TONS of goodies for you and Mary on Saturday. ;)
1. Dark with yellow undertones (NW43), black hair and dark brown eyes.
ReplyDelete2. I'm going to say it, and it's going to be a surprise, but I kind of want my 40+ bucks back, Dior! 3-Couleurs Smoky Palette in Khaki. Oh my god, it was horrible. No matter which way I used it, with various eyeshadow primers and paint pots - it always creased on me. This is the only Dior shadow I own and I don't ever plan on buying anymore. It was such a waste of money.
3. It's somewhere in my drawer. I might give it away to my sister or something if she likes it.
4. Hm, I did buy a Dior bronzer recently - one in the NUDE range. That worked pretty well. I wouldn't mind trying a Dior foundation as well. But eyeshadows? No, not going to try anymore eyeshadows from them anytime soon :)
Hmm, that really sucks since Dior is so damn expensive, too. :( I don't own a lot of their eyeshadows, but I've never had a problem with their 5-Couleurs palettes. Do you have the NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Primer? It's the best eye primer on the market, I swear to you.
DeleteDior's NUDE bronzers are GORGEOUS. So glad you bought one. :D I remember liking the Dior Forever foundation. Don't know if it's still around, but it's good for oily skin and it has full coverage, lol. But I also remember thinking, "Why am I paying so much for this foundation when I could get MAC Studio Fix Fluid for half the price?" :P
Yeah :( Tried with NARS's primer and same story. It was the worst creasing ever - unlike mild creasing where you have the color but some pigment has transferred to your crease. No, this was like naked lids with all the pigment collecting in the crease. *shudder*
DeleteThe bronzer is really nice. I got the one that doesn't have any pink in it. I've been using it as a bronzer, but I sometimes skip blush if I'm wearing heavy eye makeup. It's so kind to my oily skin - does not emphasize pores either. I only checked out the range because you blogged about them :)
Oh, man, that's REALLY bad, then. I swear, I haven't had creasing problems with Dior's 5-Couleurs palettes. Maybe it's a different formula? It sucks that such an expensive brand can have such shit products. :( I mean, MAC comes out with some questionable things, but it's like, half the price of Dior (at least in Canada).
DeleteHaha, awesome, I'm so glad my blog had some enabling power. ;) My favourite thing about the Dior Nude Bronzer is that it has a satin finish with a hint of a sheen but doesn't emphasize skin texture at all. I really should use it more often...
