As I mentioned not three days ago, I had bought some new Deborah Lippmann polishes from Nail Polish Canada. Lippmann released a new collection last month called Mirrored Chromes which, like the name suggests, is made up of multi-chrome shades. Since I am obviously a nail polish addict and feel the need to change my nail colour every two days, I decided to bust out the second shade I bought from Deborah Lippmann's Mirrored Chromes collection.
Private Dancer is a medium-dark blue-toned violet multi-chrome. Depending on the angle, it will reflect dark fuchsia, a red-toned purple, or a darker bronze-gold. This one is really hard to describe in words, because it looks so different in different lighting. Due to the metallic finish of the shade, brush strokes are visible on the nail. It goes on smoothly and evenly, but I did find it to have a thinner consistency with medium pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. I needed three coats for opacity. That having been said, Deborah Lippmann's polishes have a relatively fast dry time. What Lippmann excels at in her nail polish is the brush — it gives a beautiful, smooth, even application. It's just the right size to give clean, controlled strokes without smudging or going off the nail bed on to the skin. I also couldn't think of a dupe for this shade, which is always a bonus. I wouldn't necessarily turn to this shade for Spring and Summer, but it's a very pretty option all year round.
Oh man! The post title totally had me singing Private Dancer.
ReplyDelete"I'm your private dancer. A dancer for money. I'll do what you want me to do. I'm your private dancer. A dancer for money. Any old music will doooo."
LOL
Ok, fine! The shade is super pretty! But nothing can quite compare to your Ozotics post. Those were mind bogglingly beautiful multi-chrome shades.
How does the price compare to Murale?
LOL!!!! Every time I look at the bottle, I'll always have that song in my head...
DeleteI totally agree, Ozotics does multi-chrome beautifully. But to be fair, I didn't take multi-angle/lighting shots for these. I really should do that next time I review a duo/multi-chrome polish.
It should be the same at Murale, as far as I know. Lippmann is usually nationally priced (as opposed to like, Essie, OPI, Zoya, etc.). :)
Finally a Lippmann polish I can live without!
DeleteI love purple but it's weird, purple nail polish doesn't draw me in. And I'm so picky about metallics/chromes. But as soon as this woman creates new glitter polishes... BOOM. DOOM.
See, I love purple nail polish. And chrome polish. But this one didn't WOW me like a lot of other chromes. I find the other two chromes in this collection are nicer, which is weird, because I thought this one would be my favourite.
DeleteAnd ditto re: Lippmann's glitters. :( They're what drew me into the brand!
