I met up with Janetta this afternoon for our monthly (well, more like bi-monthly) baking session (which I will post about tomorrow!), and ended up staying for dinner. It was Janetta's turn to cook tonight for her family:
Sautéing Brussels sprouts
Sautéed Brussels sprouts with bacon and garlic
Freshly boiled pasta
Cooking pasta in sundried tomato and three cheese alfredo sauce
The finished product
Obviously, I helped make dinner, which consisted of the ridiculously difficult task of chopping Brussels sprouts and taking pictures of the whole dinner-making process (can you tell that I do not cook at home?). Anyway, all undomestic goddess-ness aside, it was my first time eating Brussels sprouts, and I must say, they really do not deserve the bad rep that they get! Maybe it was because Janetta sautéed them in bacon and garlic (two foolproof ingredients that pretty much make any savoury dish better), but they were honestly really quite delightful. Rounded out with some creamy pasta (with extra parmesan on top, of course) and some herb and garlic fish sticks, and it was really quite a tasty meal! Thanks for having me over, Janetta! (Note to self: Must go to Janetta's house for dinner more often.)
It was fab having you over for dins!

DeleteHaha, I'm broadening my food horizons at your house.
OMG That looks soooo good!!! You can't ever go wrong with Alfredo sauce. NEVERRR!
ReplyDeleteIt's true, alfredo sauce makes everything so much more delicious! It's like the bacon of the sauce world...
DeleteBacon Alfredo sauce...
DeleteUmm, you must make this for dinner. When I'm over, obvs.
