MAC Seasonally Supreme

MAC will be releasing a new add-on collection called Seasonally Supreme this coming Thursday. Seasonally Supreme features nine new and permanent shades of Sheen Supreme Lipstick, inspired by Asian culture and fashion, as well as three shades that are already in the permanent range. These lipsticks are housed in cylindrical tubes, similar to the Pro Longwear Lipcremes, but in a glossy black finish. They go on extremely smooth, lightweight, creamy, and moisturizing. They make lips look a bit more plush and juicy, but they're not too glossy that they'd make your lip glosses redundant, either. They can impart saturated colour, but you can also use a lighter hand for a more sheer lip gloss look. The darker shades will obviously have a longer wear time, but the lighter shades will last about three hours without re-applying. Moreover, you get slightly more product in a single tube for the same price as a regular MAC lipstick. The new shades released with Seasonally Supreme will be available at MAC stores only, at $17.50 a pop.

Asian Flower, Blossom Culture, and Fashion City

Asian Flower is an opaque mid-tone pink-based purple with subtle silver micro-shimmer. It is a lighter, more pink version of Up The Amp. It is lighter and more lavender than Spitfire.

Blossom Culture is a semi-opaque peachy pink with subtle white micro-shimmer. It is very similar to Ever Hip, and is a more pink version of Ravishing.

Fashion City is an opaque mid-tone peach with subtle white micro-shimmer. It is a slightly lighter version of See Sheer, or a darker version of Shy Girl.

Korean Candy, Royal Azalea, and Supreme Style

Korean Candy is an opaque bright red-based orange. It's very similar to So Chaud, perhaps slightly brighter. It's a less neon, and more red version of Morange, or if Morange and See Sheer had a baby.

Royal Azalea is an opaque light cotton candy pink with cool undertones. It's slightly warmer than Pink Nouveau, slightly darker than Viva Glam Gaga, and is slightly lighter than Behave Yourself.

Supreme Style is an opaque soft warm pink with champagne shimmer and a slightly frosted finish. It's a slightly more pink version of Bare Again, or a peachier version of Creme Cup.

Overall, I really like the new shades of Sheen Supreme. I thought they added a good mix to the existing line-ups with a couple more fun bright shades, a few neutral shades, some cool, and some warm. Sheen Supreme has quickly become my favourite lipstick finish by MAC. It just has everything I want in it: semi-opaque to opaque colour coverage, hydration, and a nice sheen that isn't too glossy. I like that you can wear them alone or layer them with lip liners and glosses to create different shades and dimension. There's something for everyone in this new collection, whether you like soft and neutral or bright and loud, and the formula alone is definitely worth checking out.
