This week's Saturday Nine:
- Have you ever lost a friend after he/she got married? None of my friends are married yet, except for Ben, who I met after he got married (and then separated and divorced).
- Do you make friends easily? I like to think so because I'm very social and personable, but there are only a handful that I keep in my inner circle. I feel like the term "friend" has become really convoluted, though, because what does "friend" really mean anymore?
- Do you have many close friends? I have several friends that I love, trust, and respect very much, but I wouldn't say it's many. Then again, I guess it's relative to how many friends I have in total and the definition of "close."
- Tell us about your oldest friend. My oldest friend is probably Katherine, who I met in Grade 7. She is 17 days older than me. She is also Chinese Canadian. She went to study law at King's College at the University of London in England, and then moved back here. She took her bar exam a couple years ago, and is now a real estate lawyer. She likes to eat noodles, look at noodles, research noodles, and discover new restaurants that serve noodles.
- Tell us about your newest friend. I'm not really sure who's my newest friend. The girls I work with are probably the newest people I've met who I see and talk to on a regular basis, and they're all really nice and sweet. So, if co-workers count, then probably them.
- Do you hang out with your friends often, or just occasionally when you can find time? I try to see my friends regularly, at least once a week.
- What's the furthest you've traveled to visit (or vacation with, etc.) a friend? Before Shawn and I started dating, we went to Montreal together on a random road trip. I think that's the furthest I've traveled with a friend. With Shawn as my boyfriend, we've traveled to New York City and Boston as well. Most of my traveling outside of Canada and the States was with my family.
- What's the biggest or best thing a friend has ever done for you? Be there for me when I need them the most.
- What's the worst or most hurtful thing that a friend (or an ex-friend) has done to you? There was a girl I had a falling out with in Grade 8, but it's a long story and quite frankly, not worth re-hashing.
