NYC (Winter 2011): Day 3, Crumbs Bake Shop

on
Tuesday, March 1, 2011

After a little more shopping (I couldn't leave New York without a couple of bras from Victoria's Secret), I dragged Shawn into Crumbs Bake Shop for cupcakes. We made it in just before closing, so there wasn't much selection left, but Shawn ended up getting the Grasshopper (chocolate cupcake with mint frosting), and I got the Elvis. The Elvis consists of a vanilla cake with banana cream cheese frosting, topped with a swirl of peanut butter and edged with peanut butter chips. Guys, there is just nothing bad about this cupcake. I do think that Crumbs cupcakes are a bit on the large and heavy side, so it's smart to split one with someone else (I could barely finish mine). But the Elvis cupcake is awesome, and pretty original as far as cupcakes go (there are only so many red velvet cupcakes I can eat). I think my favourite is still the Caramel Apple or the Carrot, though.
