I ate a lot of delicious food in Korea and Japan so I thought my Asian food quota was being met, but one Asian cuisine that I didn't anticipate missing so much was Chinese food. Because I went out for my dad's belated birthday dinner at Congee Queen and it was notably more satisfying than I expected it to be.
Thai-style green mango and tiger shrimp salad
Sweet and sour pork
Grouper fish and fried bean curd hot pot
Stir-fried yi mein (longevity noodles) with chives and shiitake mushrooms
Weirdly enough, the last time I ate dinner with both of my parents was also at Congee Queen for Chinese New Year. I guess Congee Queen has inadvertently become our special occasion restaurant.
