My friends Chelsea and Braden have been trying to take me out for a birthday dinner for three months. (Yes, you read that right. My birthday is in November. Fall came and went, and now we're in the middle of winter.) The weather gods were not working in our favour because every single date we planned for had a snow storm. But finally — finally! — after five failed re-scheduling attempts, we were able to get together on this fateful February evening and had ourselves a seafood feast at Good Catch:
Boiled mussels, corn, and potatoes in medium Good Catch Blend sauce
Fried calamari with jalapeños, bell peppers, and roasted garlic
Fried shrimp dumplings with maple sriracha, crispy shallots, and scallions
Lobster roll served hot with melted butter, cajun fries, and Caesar salad
Two appetizers and a mussel boil to share, and my favourite lobster roll as my main. I hadn't been to Good Catch for just their seafood in a long time, but I'm glad to report that it's still as delicious as I remember it, albeit with much more inflated pricing now. We had an amazing meal, I had a great time, and I never thought I'd be able to celebrate my birthday in February.
