(Warning: This post is long and photo-heavy.)
My copy of Special 8 Photo-Folio: Me, Myself, and V — "Veautiful Days" arrived last week, which is the sixth of the BTS member photobook series. This series is called Special 8 Photo-Folio because there will be a total of 8 photobooks — one for each member and one group edition. Though not confirmed by statement, I think this is BigHit's unofficial birthday project for the BTS members, as they've been releasing them by birthday order starting with Jungkook (September 1), then RM (September 12), then Jimin (October 13). We did get the BTS group book in November, but we resumed birthday order with Jin (December 4), and now V (December 30).

Finally, we get some extra items that come with the photobook. Each member has picked their own unique item to include in their photobooks, and V's item is a Victorian-style mini notebook with stickers. As with all the photobooks, V's also includes two photocards (one that comes with every single Jin photo book and one that is randomized out of 3 options), a "postage stamp" sheet (six photobooks in and I'm still not sure what purpose these serve), a mini poster that features a photo from one of the member's photoshoots (the back side also features an image of the member, but is a puzzle piece to a bigger group photo), and a folded poster.

V's photobook is called "Veautiful Days." The general theme of this is the idea that "everything goes back to classic." "Veautiful Days" contains four photoshoots based on "the classics," and has a total of 80 pages. It is a soft cover book with a removable PET overlay. Included with the photobook are several extra items: a sheet of "postage stamps," V's item (a mini notebook with stickers), two photocards (one that is included with every book and a second one that is randomized out of 3 options), a mini poster, and a folded poster. The photobook retails for ₩33,000 or $30.65 USD on Weverse Shop Global.
The first photoshoot is called "Travel," and features V in an open field wearing a 1920s-style cream three-piece suit. He is shown in various poses: reading an old book, carrying an umbrella, holding flowers, and riding a bike.
The second photoshoot is called "Tea Time," and features V wearing an early 19th century-style blue velvet suit with a cane and a watch fob. This shoot includes two different settings: a sunroom filled with various white flowers and a table set up for afternoon tea, and a greenhouse filled with large leafy plants.
The third photoshoot is called "Horseback Riding," and features V wearing a late 19th century-style blue velvet jacket with riding pants, riding boots, and a top hat. As the title implies, this shoot has an equestrian theme and features V on horseback at a large estate with stables.
The fourth photoshoot is called "Rest," and features V wearing a 1920s-style brown velvet suit with a black-and-white gingham scarf. This shoot takes place at the same estate that is featured in the "Horseback Riding" photoshoot. "Rest" shows V in various resting poses with daisies, on a bed outdoors in a field, and by a staircase in the estate.
I gotta say, the styling in these shoots is impeccable. The muted backgrounds show off the rich textures and colours of V's suits perfectly, and the fabrics contrast against nature beautifully. And with the costuming jumping back and forth from the 1800s to the 1920s, I was totally right with my "Gatsby meets Alice in Wonderland" assessment.
