As per tradition, my mom and I had our last meal of the (lunisolar) year at Congee Queen:
Cantonese poached chicken with salted ginger scallion oil
Fried bean curd with shiitake mushrooms and choy sum
Stir-fried sirloin beef with rice noodle rolls in satay sauce
It was a decent meal with plenty of leftovers (yay, don't have to cook tomorrow!), but THEY RAN OUT OF ROAST PORK, BBQ PORK, AND BBQ DUCK BY 7:30PM ON THE DAY BEFORE CHINESE NEW YEAR AND IT IS UNFORGIVABLE.
Ahem. Anyway, I'm more than ready for the Year of the Rabbit to begin.
