Back in January, Linh, Caitlin, Ying, and I had planned to go for Japanese BBQ, but then restaurants were forced back into lockdown which obviously botched our plans. So when the province announced the end of lockdown, we immediately made reservations at Gyu Hito, which Linh's friend had recommended as "the best Japanese BBQ in Toronto." We got there after work at 6:00PM and ordered almost everything off the menu, from cold noodles to bibimbap to chicken karaage to beef short ribs to pork belly to garlic mussels to yam with cheese to pineapple. And then had a Melona bar and two crème brûlées each for dessert. (We literally ate enough for 6 people.) And I gotta say, in terms of quality, variety, service, and ambience, Linh's friend was right: Gyu Hito is by far the best Japanese BBQ I've had in the city.
