Steamed pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao)

Shanghai wontons in chili sauce

Pan-fried green onion pancakes

Shanghai-style fried rice cakes with shredded pork and cabbage

Stir-fried spicy green beans with minced pork

My mom asked me what I wanted to eat for Mid-Autumn Festival and all I wanted was xiao long bao, so we obviously headed over to Ding Tai Fung. Along with our glorious soup dumplings, we also got some other classic faves: Shanghai wontons in chili sauce, pan-fried green onion pancake, Shanghai-style fried rice cakes with shredded pork and cabbage, and stir-fried spicy green beans with minced pork. A lot of people think Ding Tai Fung is overrated now, but everything was ULTRA DELICIOUS, and I don't know if it's because I hadn't had Shanghainese food in over two years but I haven't found better soup dumplings in the city yet. (But also, who needs mooncake when you have xiao long bao?)

Wishing everyone a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 🌕🍁
