Unboxing: BTS x McDonald's — Icons Collection

My first BTS x McDonald's order finally arrived! This order was for the Icons collection that launched in May, and I bought exactly three items:

The first item is, obviously, the black logo shirt. The black shirt is always my go-to from any BTS merch launch. (This is why I now have over 30 BTS black logo tees.) The front left chest is decorated with an embroidered McDonald's fries icon featuring both the BTS and McDonald's logos on it. The side includes a matching red tag with both logos on it as well. And the shirt randomly comes with a cotton pouch that features both the BTS logo and the McDonald's fries logo that is also simultaneously meant to look like digital soundboard levels made up of all the members' names. I guess they just wanted to include a freebie, but I'm not complaining 'cause it's freaking cute.

The second item is the light grey crewneck sweatshirt. I know, I surprised myself by wanting this, too, because I very rarely go for lighter coloured clothing items. I had been thinking about getting the tee that featured the same logo but it was black and I was already getting a black shirt. (Even I have a black T-shirt quota per collection.) So when I saw that this logo came on a grey crewneck sweatshirt, I was sold. I actually love crewneck sweatshirts, maybe even more than hoodies, but they're not released often, so I snatched this one up right away. The sweatshirt is made in a French terry material and the front left chest features embroidery using the Korean initials of BTS and McDonald's, with the fries icon printed on the neckline at the back. I really like that they kept it simple with the designs for this collection. It keeps the clothing classy and wearable.

The third and last item I chose is the beach towel. Obviously, I'm not going to use this at a beach. I don't go to beaches. I got this specifically to use as a bath towel. And I needed it because IT HAS FRIES ALL OVER IT. It's actually a really big towel and surprisingly soft and fluffy, and now I'm wondering if I should've gotten more than one...

BTS x McDonald's — Photocard
Obviously, the merch came with a pre-order gift, which was, of course, a photocard. (Is it official BTS merch without a photocard?) And I got the one with Jungkook staring intensely (lovingly?) at his Chicken McNuggets, which is entirely relatable because that's also what I do when I get my nugs. (Also, I always wonder if Weverse Shop secretly knows who my biases are, because I seem to be getting Jungkook or Jimin for my randomized member items for almost every product. Not complaining, of course. It's just eerie.)

I know that this merch was to commemorate the BTS Meal (which is sadly no longer available after its month-long run, but it clearly made an impact because both the limited Sweet Chili and Cajun dipping sauces are now permanent!) but combining my love for BTS and McDonald's — especially their fries — for a practical merch collection was obviously the perfect bait for me. (Seriously. BTS. McDonald's. And merch. The three things I cannot resist.) I'm actually just surprised that I somehow managed to snag these items before they sold out (which was fucking fast, y'all — buying BTS merch now is like the Hunger Games). Now I'm just waiting for my order from the second collection to arrive. I need to wear my McDonald's x BTS French Fry slides before summer ends.
