(Warning: This post is long and photo-heavy.)

BTS, The Best is the third Japanese compilation album by BTS that was released on June 16, 2021. (In case you're wondering, "The Best" refers to the best of BTS' Japanese songs, not just that they're the best. Because I legitimately did not realize this until I saw the track listing.) There are a total of seven editions of BTS, The Best. If you want to know the differences between all the versions, you can read my original set unboxing post here, where I break it all down for you. This post will focus on BTS, The Best Type C Limited Edition. The Type C Limited Edition retails for ¥4,000 (approximately $36 USD or $44 CAD), not including shipping. I bought this as part of the 7net Exclusive Set, which retails for ¥15,539 (approximately $140 USD or $175 CAD), from CDJapan.

BTS BTS, The Best — Type C Limited Edition  Sticker Sheets

The highlight of Type C Limited Edition is, of course, the perfect-bound 112-page photobook. This is only one of two editions of BTS, The Best that actually comes with a photobook. (The other one is the BTS Japan Official Fanclub Edition, which is only available for fanclub members in Japan.) The Type C photobook cover features a building ruin in the middle of a purple sand landscape. The photobook does include the lyrics for all 23 songs as well, but the majority of the book is filled with gorgeous photos of the boys in group, subunit, and individual shots across two different concept shoots. (You might have noticed already, but one shoot features the purple sand landscape with ruins and columns, and the other shoot features the desert landscape with a vintage Airstream trailer. These two shoots are used across all seven editions.) Type C Limited Edition also comes with two sticker sheets, one for each concept shoot. You know, if you're the type of person who actually uses stickers.

Type C Limited Edition is one of two versions of BTS, The Best that actually includes both concept shoots in the contents. (Again, the other one is the BTS Japan Official Fanclub Edition, which isn't sold to the public so it basically doesn't exist.) So now this is where you have to decide: Do I want the photobook? Or do I want the DVD/Blu-ray content? Or do I want photocards? They purposely make it SUPER DIFFICULT for ARMY because there is no edition with all of the above. I mean, I was practically forced in buying the set, you know? (This is really smart marketing, actually.) So, basically, if you're on a budget... good luck.
