Ying and I had made reservations for the Jungkook global cafe birthday event in Toronto today, which was hosted at The Alley by Shirl and partnered with fansites, Golden Film and Enchanted JK. We only found out about this last week 'cause we weren't sure if there was even going to be a birthday event here this year due to the pandemic, but the host followed all the government mandates and health guidelines to make sure it was as safe as possible (mandatory masks, social distancing, reservations to limit people inside the cafe at all times, etc.) so we could celebrate Jungkookie together. (The event was likely held this weekend instead of last weekend — during Kookie's actual birthday — due to confirming with the cafe to see if we were actually allowed to host the event, and also to make sure the cup sleeves arrived on time.)

Jungkook Worldwide Cafe Event Cup Sleeves by Golden Film and Enchanted JK
Jungkook Worldwide Cafe Event Photo Cards
You could get one free cup sleeve and two photo cards for every drink you ordered, but there were two versions of the cup sleeve and four different photo cards total, so Ying and I obviously got two drinks each to get all of them. We only celebrate our golden maknae once a year, you know? (I will honestly say this with all of BTS' birthdays, but whatever, it's a special occasion.) So I got my usual order from The Alley, which is the classic Deerioca with soy milk (it's basically a brown sugar milk tea with tapioca but it tastes exactly like Maple Nut Oatmeal Crisp so it's fucking awesome), and I decided to try the Snow Strawberry Lulu (imagine a frothy strawberry milk, almost like a diluted milkshake, but with big chunks of actual strawberry — actually quite delicious, though a bit too much ice).
Even though we were only in the cafe for about 10 minutes — just enough time to order our drinks, get our cup sleeves and photo cards, take photos of the adorable Jungkook decorations around the cafe, and get our drinks to go — we did have a fun time hanging out in College Park just outside of The Alley. (Honestly, the weather was perfect for relaxing outside today. Sunny, 22°C, with a slight breeze. Kookie would've appreciated it.) At the end of the day, I'm just really glad we ended up getting an event in Toronto. We hadn't been to one since Yoongi's birthday in March, which was right before the pandemic hit, and we hadn't had anything to look forward to this year since BTS announced the tour postponement, so this was really a much-needed occasion to lift our spirits. Thank you so much again to Shirl for hosting the event here, and of course, Golden Film and Enchanted JK for providing the cup sleeves and photo cards. It wouldn't have been possible without you. And, of course, happy belated birthday to our Jungkookie, our main vocalist, baby bunny, and golden maknae! 💜
