Big Hit Corporate Briefing with the Community (2H 2020)

"The first half of 2020 was difficult not just for Korea, but the entire world. Challenges remain with cloudy forecasts. Big Hit also faced entirely unexpected turmoil. For years, we've always walked on paths untrodden, but this time, the going was especially tough. Looking back, each moment was a threat and a crisis. No truer was this than for our BTS concerts. An entire world tour that would have begun in Seoul in April, followed by 16 concerts in the North America, seven in Europe and then across Asia to a thrilling conclusion at the end of the year was overhauled completely. Our artists and the company shared the same disappointment that our fans surely must have felt.

Endless discussions took place while the concerts were being postponed, then cancelled. Possible future dates were reviewed, new venues were searched for in a loop that lasted months. But from that fierce debate and discussion, we re-discovered something. That at the core of every decision was Big Hit's philosophy and value, of placing content and fans at the forefront. 'How can we encourage our fans disappointed by the cancellations?' 'With what content could we make our customers happy?' We had to both solve immediate problems and prepare new future content. And we had to find a way to express our core value epitomized by our mission, necessary now more than ever, of 'Music and Artist for Healing.'"
