Sunday Video Love: Simmer

It has been a long time since I posted a music video that doesn't feature BTS, but Hayley Williams has finally released her first solo project after 15 years with Paramore, and as someone who has been a Paramore fan since their conception, this was something I knew I had divert my attention to. Her EP, Petals for Armor I is entirely different from Paramore, of course, and I would've been disappointed if it wasn't. It experiments with totally disparate sounds, narratives, and stories, showing an entirely new, more mature, but not unexpected side of Hayley. She's now a 31-year-old woman who has gone through a divorce, mental health problems, and an existential crisis. She's now a music industry veteran who grew up in the limelight, faced harsh criticisms from the public, and has a lot more to convey than the trials and tribulations of growing up. This is the rebirth of Hayley Williams.
